Hell, I can drop Amy who I've learnt the game with now and start playing Ivy for large periods of time.

Makes the experience so much more fun in my opinion rather than forcing myself to play a character and style that I don't even want to main. Thankfully the time apart made me pickup Ivy and Groh and learn them a bit which was healthy, but now I can actually play as my favorite character and enjoy learning the others on the side. I tend to play these games a lot, but I just don't feel I can play anyone beyond Hwang and Amy effectively. Since the leak happened so early I just waited until Amy was announced which to my surprise she came before Cassandra and I feel bad for Cass fans but I am eternally grateful I got my main so early. I loved SC6, but I wasn't remotely interested in playing much til Amy was revealed and released. With the assets they have from SC3 new characters wouldn’t be as “expensive” as a new guest if you lot are so opposed to them.īut if you advertise £$25 worth of variants to the average consumer it will effect sales. I’m being realistic, I know fans don’t like that but SC isn’t in a Luxurious position right now. If we want this game to grow, nostalgia can’t be the only thing we build on. That know the variation of the same weapon are different.People that aren’t hardcore fans like us.I know they’re not the same I’m only playing Sophitia because Cassandra isn’t here.Īnd I know Amy is different from Raphael if you pick up and play.Īll of us here will buy the season pass that much is obvious.īut it’s not just the 100 (if that) people on this thread you need the masses and if you advertise what looks like variations of the same weapon all in one season pass people are going to be less likely to buy. Arcade mode is lacking, but Soul Chronicle Mode does fill that need for character-specific stories.I really don’t think you guys are being realistic at all. You don’t even fight a special boss for the final battle. Not even an introduction or ending for your character.

You fight against a series of computer-controlled enemies, but you don’t have any story content here. But these modes have a lot of story, and it’s fun for fans of the franchise to experience so much lore about these characters.Īrcade Mode is a bit disappointing.

The narrative presents itself as more a visual novel than a series of cutscenes, like you’ve seen in fighting games like Injustice. Soul Chronicle Mode gives story content for each character on the roster, again with fights peppered between all the dialogue. It’s similar to past Soulcalibur features like Soulcalibur 2’s Weapon Master Mode. You learn the flow of battle, when you should be attacking, and when you should be defending.įighting games are inherently a multiplayer affair, but Soulcalibur VI gives solo players plenty to do. Libra of Soul Mode has you making your own character and exploring a world map to move along the narrative and fight enemies, all while leveling up thanks to some basic RPG mechanics.

You can sidestep attacks and even manipulate your opponent to a level’s edge and beat them with a ring-out.Īs long as you’re not playing against seasoned vets, you can do well in Soulcalibur VI just by understanding timing. And since Soulcalibur is a 3D fighter, positioning is important. You can mess around with the entire roster, and as long as you have a decent grasp on the basics, you can still play well.Īside from the basic attacks, you can push multiple buttons at once to do things like grab an opponent or pull off stronger (but slower) moves. This means that you don’t have to focus so intently on mastering a single character. And while every character has a different weapon and feel, they operate under the same basic frame. You can perform simple combos just by repeatedly hitting horizontal or vertical strikes repeatedly. You have horizontal attacks, vertical attacks, and kicks. Fighting in Soulcalibur VI has a great flow, and you only need a few buttons.
